Dr Lyn Dickens' manuscript 'Salt upon the water' has won the 2024 Arts South Australia Wakefield Press Unpublished Manuscript Award.

The Award Judges commented Dickens鈥 manuscript was "a captivating exploration of mixed-race identities, privilege, and power鈥.
鈥淭his lyrical and poetic historical fiction examines one of Australia鈥檚 founding figures in a new light. Dickens focuses on two mixed-race characters from colonised lands meeting again on the shores of the fledgling South Australian colony.鈥
