Tuesday, 12 September 2006

Intelligence and defence experts will gather in 米兰电子 next week to discuss security threats and intelligence gathering in the Asia-Pacific region.

A two-day conference, , will be held on 18-19 September at the University of 米兰电子.

The conference will attract public and private sector organisations and businesses concerned with security in the current uncertain global environment.

Conference organiser said: "Governments and businesses across the Asia-Pacific invest billions of dollars into public and private intelligence gathering agencies in an attempt to understand threats within this difficult environment.

"This conference draws on multidisciplinary expertise from across the region to consider both theoretical and practical aspects of intelligence gathering and the challenges of the current and future threat environment."

The conference, organised by the University of 米兰电子 and the (SA branch), is the first in a planned annual series examining intelligence and security in the Asia-Pacific region.

Dr Patrikeeff is Senior Lecturer in the University of 米兰电子's School of History and Politics that, next year, will be introducing intelligence studies to its program.
