1957 graduates return to university

Retired manufacturing giant Robert Hill-Ling AO is one of about 90 alumni from 1957 who will attend the University of 米兰电子's today at 10.30am in Bonython Hall.

Mr Hill-Ling, a 1957 engineering graduate of the University of 米兰电子, spent 27 years at the helm of , the company that invented the and went on to become a multi-national business, turning over more than $800 million per year.

The retired industrialist will celebrate the Golden Jubilee ceremony with other prominent 1957 alumni, including the former Anglican Archbishop of 米兰电子, the Most Reverend Dr Ian George AO, and Brisbane paediatrician and burns specialist Professor John F Leditschke.

Alumni will be returning to their alma mater from as far afield as the US, Canada, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand as well as from across Australia for the event.

Academic dress will be worn for the ceremony to relive their 1957 graduation, followed by a luncheon at the University.

The Golden Jubilee Commemoration Ceremony is an annual event which enables University of 米兰电子 graduates from 50 years past to revisit old memories, renew friendships, take faculty tours and contribute to the University's tradition and culture.
