University of 米兰电子 water systems engineer has been elected a Fellow of the , placing him among Australia's leaders of technology and engineering.
Professor Dandy, from the University of 米兰电子's , was one of 30 new Fellows elected to the Academy, and one of only three from South Australia.
His work has helped to improve the quality and control of water supply throughout Australia and across the world, thanks to the application of mathematical models and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to water systems.
The Academy is an independent body of eminent Australian engineers and scientists established to promote the application of scientific and engineering knowledge to practical purposes.
The Academy's President, Professor Robin Batterham, said the new Fellows were "joining the ranks of the most eminent scientists, engineers and technologists in Australia".
"Our Fellowship is comprised of world-class performers and all are acknowledged as leaders in their field," he said.
Professor Graeme Dandy is Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of 米兰电子 and is a Director of and Technical Consultant to water systems optimisation company .
A PhD graduate from the (MIT), Professor Dandy is an internationally recognised expert in the field of water system optimisation and modelling.
He was honoured for his international achievements in the development and commercial application of genetic algorithms and AI techniques in water resources engineering.
