The largest graduation ceremony ever hosted by the University of 米兰电子 in Singapore will take place this Saturday 20 March when 193 students from 13 different countries will receive their parchments at the Convention Centre.

Australia's High Commissioner to Singapore, His Excellency Mr , will address the record number of graduates at the 2pm ceremony, which will be attended by a number of Singapore VIPs and the Chancellor of the University of 米兰电子, the .

This will be the last Singapore ceremony Mr von Doussa will preside over as Chancellor, prior to his stepping down from the role in July after six years. He is a former Chair of the and former Judge. Mr von Doussa will be the guest of honour at two dinners in Singapore this weekend to recognise his contribution to one of Australia's finest universities.

This weekend's graduates include three PhD students and 13 prizewinners from the University's programs offered in Singapore at the Ngee Ann-米兰电子 Education Centre.

Countries represented at this Saturday's ceremony include Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Myanmar, India, Nepal, China, Mauritius, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Australia.

The Head of the Command and Staff Training Centre at the Academy, Mr Noor Azlan, will be the macebearer at the ceremony. Mr Azlan received two High Distinctions and six Distinctions in his course at Ngee Ann-米兰电子 Education Centre.

His qualification from the University of 米兰电子 will assist in his role to help train people from all over the world in the areas of disaster management, command and control, and emergency response, including fire fighting, rescue and ambulance services.

米兰电子 has been offering education programs in Singapore in conjunction with its partner for the past 12 years. Established in 1874, the University of 米兰电子 is Australia's third oldest university and carries a five-star rating for prestige.

Currently ranked 81 in the world by the , the University is associated with five Nobel Prize winners, 102 Rhodes Scholars and 104 Fulbright Scholars.
