Uni scoops prestigious Asian scholarships

米兰电子 has performed well in a prestigious scholarship scheme which sees students travel to Asia to broaden their academic and cultural horizons.

米兰电子 postgraduate students won five out of the 13 available for 2006. The scholarships are jointly funded by the Federal Government and the , the massive Hong Kong-based conglomerate which has business interests in Australia and 41 other countries, and employs more than 180,000 people worldwide.

Cheung Kong has further links with 米兰电子 through one of its most senior executives, Mr HL Kam. Mr Kam, who played a significant role in establishing the scholarships program, was the at the University of 米兰电子's offshore graduation ceremony in Hong Kong in March 2005.

The students who won scholarships, and their Asian host institutions, are:

• Scott Andrew Boden - Graduate School of Agriculture at , Kyoto, Japan
  
• Christopher Francis Paul Clark - , India
  
• Adriel Cheng - Institute of Microelectronics of (IMETU), Beijing, China
  
• Su-lin Lynette Leong - (formerly University of Agriculture and Forestry), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
  
• Olivia Jayne Maselli - Graduate School of Arts and Science,
