Shy species detected through new DNA technique

New species-specific tests that can detect endangered and hard-to-find aquatic animals through the DNA they shed in the water has been created by researchers at the University of Ã×À¼µç×Ó and Curtin University.

New technique delivers complete DNA sequences of chromosomes inherited from mother and father

An international team of scientists led by the University of Ã×À¼µç×Ó’s Davies Research Centre has shown that it is possible to disentangle the DNA sequences of the chromosomes inherited from the mother and the father, to create true diploid genomes from a single individual.
